Global Business Bulletin began as a static international business news and analysis website. The next version transforms it into an AI-powered business intelligence product that helps professionals understand global market changes, company activity, trade developments, industry movement, regulation, and cross-border opportunities.

The Problem

Global business information is fragmented across news, reports, filings, databases, and regional sources. Professionals often lack the time and structure needed to turn that information into useful business insight.

  • Who: international business professionals, market researchers, strategy teams, investors, founders exploring new markets, global operators, trade and policy professionals.
  • Struggle: reading widely without ever reaching a decision-ready view.
  • Why current solutions fall short: news aggregators optimise for volume; enterprise intelligence platforms optimise for price.

The Opportunity

  • Gap: an accessible layer between raw global news and expensive enterprise intelligence.
  • Value: personalised briefings that state the strategic implication, not just the headline.
  • Assumptions to validate: that professionals will trust AI-generated implications and that watchlists drive habitual return.

Product Direction

Prototype stage — the experience below is the intended direction.

  • Personalized global business briefings
  • Country and industry tracking
  • Company monitoring
  • Opportunity signals
  • Regulatory and trade alerts
  • AI summaries
  • Strategic implications
  • Custom dashboards
  • Research workspaces

Discovery and Research

Research in progress

Structured discovery is underway. This section will be written up once it is complete.

Planned to cover

  • Interviews with international business professionals and market researchers
  • How they currently assemble a global view, and what they do with it
  • Which signals they would trust an AI layer to interpret

Product Strategy

To be documented

Positioning and strategic bets will be documented after discovery.

Planned to cover

  • Target segment and the wedge use case
  • Positioning against news aggregators and enterprise intelligence platforms
  • The strategic bet and how it will be tested

Prioritization and MVP

To be documented

MVP scope will be set once the discovery findings are in.

Planned to cover

  • MVP definition and the cut line
  • Prioritization rationale and tradeoffs
  • Success criteria for the first release

Launch and Go-to-Market

Not launched yet

The product is a prototype. Nothing has been launched, so there is nothing to report here yet.

Planned to cover

  • Launch approach and first channel
  • Early access or waitlist plan
  • Pricing direction

Results

No outcomes yet

Prototype stage. No usage, engagement, or revenue outcomes exist yet — this section stays empty rather than estimated.

Planned to cover

  • Users and adoption — to be added after launch
  • Engagement and retention — to be added after launch
  • Qualitative feedback — to be added after the first user sessions

Challenges and Tradeoffs

To be documented

Real tradeoffs will be recorded as they are made, not written in advance.

Planned to cover

  • Depth of intelligence versus speed of reading
  • How much interpretation to hand to AI
  • Breadth of coverage versus quality of sourcing

What I Learned

To be documented

Lessons will be added once the product has been in real users' hands.

What I Would Build Next

  • Personalized watchlists
  • Country intelligence pages
  • Industry signal dashboards
  • Company event tracking
  • AI-generated implications
  • Exportable executive briefings
  • Integration or MCP-style access to structured intelligence

Reflection

This project strengthened my ability to design information architecture for complex data, and to define how AI adds judgement rather than summary volume.
